The project Trust Alum - "Building trust in target groups for ALUM treatment - an effective, yet misunderstood method for water quality improvement" tackles historical phosphorus deposits in lakes. The aim is to build trust towards ALUM water treatment by using expertise and experiences of a Swedish partner which has more than 60 years of experience and ~250 positive application examples. ALUM has never been used in Baltic countries due to identified barriers: lack of know-how, skepticism about outcomes, belief it is too expensive, and fear of aluminum itself.
