The Swedish Institute (SI) has an ongoing call for project funding in the new SI Ukraine Cooperation Programme. During summer 2024, a call for seed funding projects will be launched within the SI Baltic Sea Neighbourhood Programme.

The Swedish Institute Ukraine Cooperation Programme

Through the programme, the Swedish Institute grants funding to projects aimed at supporting Ukraine's reconstruction, reform efforts, and EU integration in areas such as inclusive economic development, entrepreneurship and trade, human rights, democracy, rule of law, and gender equality. Projects that are granted support are expected to contribute to strengthened capacity within organisations, as well as increased competence, including broadened networks and new knowledge for individuals.

The programme is aimed at actors in Sweden and their partners in Ukraine. Actors from additional programme countries may be included as partners if it clearly contributes to the feasibility of the project and benefit for the target groups in Ukraine. See partnership requirements on the website.

Within the call for applications conducted in 2024, three types of grants are offered: project preparation, cooperation projects and thematic training programmes.

The first call of the new SI Ukraine Cooperation Programme is open and closes 15 May 2024. You're welcome to join info seminars on 8 April (Swedish) or 16 April (English).

SI Baltic Sea Neighbourhood Programme

The Swedish Institute Baltic Sea Neighbourhood Programme provides funding for projects in which Swedish organisations work on cross-border challenges and opportunities together with organisations from the EU countries around the Baltic Sea and countries in the EU’s Eastern Partnership. Projects should reflect on the connections to EUSBSR by describing the links to actions specified in the EUSBSR Action Plan.

During summer 2024, the Swedish Institute will open a call for applications regarding the grant type seed funding.

Seed funding aims to lay the foundation for cooperation. For example, projects can use seed funding to:

  • Prepare applications for new funding (mainly EU).
  • Develop concepts and identify partners for future cooperation.

Grant amount: Minimum SEK 100,000 up to SEK 400,000

Project duration: 6–15 months
