Highlights

Innovations, visions and leadership for a sustainable Baltic Sea – these topics were discussed during the first Baltic Sea Future Congress held on 6th and 7th March 2017 in Stockholm, Sweden.
Innovation - the process of finding new smart solutions to address our common challenges - has its own dedicated policy area in the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region. Policy area (PA) Innovation, as one out of 13 policy areas, demonstrates the commitment and importance that the countries in this region assign to strengthening their innovative position on the global stage. As such, PA-innovation contributes to the EU strategy’s goal of economic growth and increased prosperity in the Baltic Sea Region.
The 7th Strategy Forum of the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region in Stockholm 8-9 November 2016 is over, and preparations for next year's forum in Berlin 13-14 June are already well on their way.
The story of the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region began in 2009. So far it has been a story of many successes and opportunities: projects and processes that have implemented the Action Plan of the Strategy have brought real change to the Baltic Sea Region.
