Written by  Let's communicate!

In the beginning of this year, Interreg South Baltic Programme promoted their Flagships in a Facebook campaign. The campaign is a great compilation of the work carried out within the EUSBSR but also good inspiration to all those thinking of running a social media campaign.

Let’s take a look at the Flagships and their results!

Attractive hardwoods

  • Flagship under EUSBSR Policy Area Bioeconomy

Aim of the project: developing the hardwoods tourism. The project's purpose is to increase the popularity and the number of visitors to the deciduous forests as in- and off-season destinations for cross-border ecotourism.

The Baltic Sea Tourism Center

  • Flagship under EUSBSR Policy Area Tourism

Aim of the project: to promote sustainable and competitive tourism in the Baltic Sea region providing partnerships, insights and skills.

  • Flagship under EUSBSR Policy Area Innovation

Aim of the project: to promote cross-border development and transfer of innovative sustainable and environmentally friendly aquaculture technologies in the South Baltic area.

  • Flagship under EUSBSR Horizontal Action Climate

Aim of the project: to optimise the use of biomass. The unutilised biological resources (grain production, sugar beet production, vegetable production and handling, forestry and wood product manufacturing, new crops) can be converted into a variety of innovative food and non-food products, biofertilisers and bioenergy.

  • Flagship under EUSBSR Policy Area Education

Aim of the project: to develop and pilot the first international vocational education in Edtech and Mechatronic sectors, involving 40 students and 5 countries (Sweden, #Denmark, Germany, Poland and Lithuania). It is a research and development project broadening the internationalisation of Vocational Educational Training (VET) in Baltic Sea Region.

  • Flagship under EUSBSR Policy Area Transport

Aim of the project: to develop and enhance regional and cross-border travel offer for foot passengers. Interconnect addresses the opportunity of curbing the car-reliant mobility trend in South Baltic area by means of user-adjusted and more sustainable public transport services for regional and cross-border travels.

  • Flagship under EUSBSR Policy Area Hazards

Aim of the project: removal of pharmaceutical substances in South Baltic. The overall idea of the project is to address challenge of the pharmaceutical pollution in Baltic Sea area. Chemical pollution of surface water presents a threat to the aquatic environment with effects of losses of habitats and biodiversity, as well as a threat to human health. Pollution are dealt with at source, in the most economically and environmentally effective manner.
