"Storytelling is the essential human activity.
The harder the situation, the more essential it is."

Author Tim O'Brien

Storytelling is one of the oldest and most powerful ways to communicate, to get your message through.

Storytelling is a very versatile technique and tool. You can use it for all kinds of communications from face-to-face meetings, blog posts, videos and presentations to social media posts.

For a complex structure like the EUSBSR, storytelling can be a great means to

  • take a complex issue such as policy change and translate it into something personal and relatable
  • tell about success cases and share lessons learned in your projects
  • boost your blog posts and newsletters
  • share short but engaging testimonials, opinions on social media or media
  • inspire your colleagues, build trust and give meaning to your own work
  • change people’s frame of thinking on important issues and topics such as EUSBSR

In this tool kit, stories and storytelling are emphasized – and there are practical tools and tricks on where to find the stories and how to put your message into “story format”.
